Discover Lil' House Of Pizza Dinners & Catering

The first time I walked into Lil' House Of Pizza Dinners & Catering, tucked into 6903 St Andrews Rd Suite 3, Columbia, SC 29212, United States, I wasn’t expecting much more than a quick slice. What I got instead felt like stepping into someone’s family kitchen, where the recipes matter and nobody rushes you out the door. The place has that easy diner vibe - mismatched tables, a handwritten specials board, and the smell of garlic bread that makes you forget about your phone for a minute.

I’ve spent over a decade consulting for independent restaurants across South Carolina, so I tend to notice the small things. Here, the menu is short but purposeful. That’s usually a good sign. Industry research from the National Restaurant Association shows that streamlined menus can improve order accuracy and speed of service, and that definitely holds true here. Every time I’ve ordered, the food hits the table fast and hot, whether it’s a classic pepperoni pie, baked ziti, or one of their oversized calzones.

A real example that sold me on the place happened last fall when I helped coordinate a small community fundraiser. We needed affordable catering that didn’t taste like cardboard. Their catering process was surprisingly smooth. The owner walked me through portion sizes, suggested mixing sheet pizzas with pasta trays, and even flagged which items travel best. That’s the kind of hands-on guidance you don’t always get. We fed about 40 people, and not a single slice came back to the kitchen. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, food quality and temperature control are major factors in event satisfaction, and they nailed both.

What makes this diner stand out isn’t fancy ingredients, but consistent technique. Their dough is rested long enough to develop flavor, something culinary schools like the Culinary Institute of America stress as critical for texture. You can taste the difference - the crust has chew without turning tough. The sauce leans slightly sweet, which balances the saltiness of the cheese, a pairing that food scientists at Cornell University have noted increases overall flavor perception.

Reviews around town back this up. On local community boards and food apps, people keep mentioning the same things: generous portions, friendly staff, and prices that don’t leave you feeling ripped off. One review I read compared their baked lasagna to what they grew up eating at their grandmother’s house. As someone who studies customer sentiment, that kind of emotional language is gold.

They’ve also become one of those go-to locations for office lunches and school events in the St Andrews area. Their menu makes it easy to customize orders for picky eaters or big groups, and they’re upfront about what they can and can’t do. I once asked about a gluten-free option for a coworker, and instead of overselling, they clearly explained the limitations of their kitchen. That kind of honesty builds trust, even when the answer isn’t perfect.

Of course, no place is flawless. Parking can get tight during peak dinner hours, and because it’s a small shop, large catering orders should be placed a day ahead. They’re transparent about this, which matters - the Food and Drug Administration consistently highlights clear communication as a cornerstone of safe food service operations.

Between the cozy diner atmosphere, thoughtful catering, and a menu that sticks to what it does best, this spot has earned its reputation around Columbia. It’s not trying to be trendy or Instagram-famous. It just serves real pizza and comfort food, day after day, and that reliability is exactly why people keep coming back.

  • Great place for a cost friendly meal. We discovered this restaurant a couple months ago and keep going back for dinner and when we want a quick lunch. They also have some grab and go frozen meals and deserts. They have great lunch specials between $7-9, including two slices of pizza, half sub and choice of side, and burger sliders with choice of side. Friendly service, good prices and right sized menu. Food is prepped right as you order and has always been served hot! Two of us ate lunch for under $18.

  • If I could give one thousand stars, I absolutely would — and it still wouldn’t be enough for how AMAZING Little House of Pizza truly is! From the moment you walk in, the smell alone deserves its own award. The pizza? Next level. We’re talking that perfect, golden, crispy-but-still-soft crust that only real pizza masters can pull off. The cheese stretches like it’s straight out of a commercial, the toppings are beyond fresh, and every single bite makes you question why you’ve ever eaten pizza anywhere else. The staff? Absolute legends. Friendly, fast, and they make you feel like family from the second you walk in the door. You can tell this place is built on pride, passion, and a whole lot of flavor. Whether you’re grabbing a slice, ordering a full pie, or trying one of their other menu items — everything is consistent, hot, and absolutely delicious. It’s the kind of place you recommend once and instantly become everyone’s favorite person.

  • Great pizza- my new favorite! Have been now several times to eat in- the crust is fantastic with just a little crunch- not dry or burnt. Haven’t tried traveling with it because I enjoy burning the roof of my mouth off at least once a week!

  • We hired lil house of pizza to cater our wedding, and they absolutely exceeded our expectations. The food was very delicious, our guests are still talking about how much they loved it. The staff was incredibly friendly and professional, making everything run smoothly from start to finish. I would recommend them to anyone looking for amazing food and outstanding service.

  • This lil' place has become a Friday night take-out staple. We always get the eggplant parmesan dinner and a pizza. The pizza has become our favorite in Columbia. I think they get the best ingredients available for pizza. The dough is crispy but still chewy, with a great salty taste. The sauce is classic and flavorful. I got the Brooklyn Bridge tonight, it is exceptional. I can't recommend this place enough. Love it!

  • Fabulous dinner last night at Lil House of Pizza. Mussels were fantastic. Salads were plentiful. Fettuccine Alfredo had fresh made pasta and the delicious sauce coated the noodles perfectly. Very fair wine prices and a nice selection. All this with jazz music that you could sing along with. We will be back for the next pop up event with friends.

  • Attended the Pop-up event for July and it was wonderful! Sounds like there is one each month so do yourself a favor and sign up for the next one. The staff was so friendly and made suggestions of their favorites. To top it off a local saxophone player was there to add to the ambiance for the evening. Front of the business is pizzas and such but there was a separate dining area for this event. We tried the mussels and baked mozzarella appetizers (omg the mussels!!!!), the eggplant parm and rosemary butter Filet Mignon. Each came w a side and the eggplant came with a side of pasta included. We tried the Caesar salad and grilled vegetables. Honestly I could have gone home thrilled with just the mussels and salad…so so so good!! Topped it off with tiramisu dessert. Everything was fantastic and a nice small selection of wines to enjoy dinner with. Can’t wait to come back to try a pizza!

  • Best pizza in the area. The crust is always perfect. The taste second to none. I'm familiar with some great pizza places in my hometown of Cleveland Ohio. Since moving here we have not had a lot of good experiences with pizza. Until finding this place. It ranks with the best I have had. I admit I am a pizza snob but Lil House has met my challenge. We get pizza one a week and only from them. Thanks Lil House for some great pizza!
